This small busy veterinary practice is located in the heart of Ballito in the Dolphin Coast region of KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. Two veterinary surgeons supported by a veterinary nurse, receptionists and kennel hands ensure that the pets of Ballito residents are provided with all the necessary care and treatment. In addition, they are often called upon to treat injured wildlife including vervet monkeys.

Interns stay in a privately owned house in the town of Shakaskraal in South Africa's Dolphin Coast. The house is 10km from the sanctuary and 10kms from the beaches, bars, restaurants, shopping malls and cinema of Ballito. It is also just 26kms from Durban's international airport (King Shaka International).
The house has one en-suite quad room, two en-suite twin rooms and a further twin room with a large shower room just across the hall. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. Volunteers can also make full use of the communal areas which include a large dining room, a TV lounge with full DSTV satellite package and DVD player, a book swap & DVD library, board games, playing cards, gardens and a well stocked honesty bar.
The volunteer/internship coordinator lives on-site and, as well as ensuring your placement runs smoothly, can suggest things to do and see in the area and help you to book them.
